The Open door handle by Olivari is Koolhaas' answer to the request for an innovative product. The handle is reduced to its essential components: the hub and the lever. These two parts, jointed together, allow a wide customization of the single element.

The Open handle can be fitted with a round or vertical rosette, or oval plate.

Made entirely of brass, it is available in various galvanic and PVD finishes.

Also available for windows with DK or Cremonese system.

Description

The Open collection includes door and window handles. The name "open" was specifically chosen to indicate total openness and variability in the customization of the handle. The lever can in fact be enriched with holes, lightening and coatings, and will always manage to be in balance with the hub.

Battista Olivari founded the company in 1911 in Borgomanero, Italy. Olivari is synonymous with innovation thanks, for example, to the introduction on the market of anodized aluminum handles and the first plastic handles. In the 2000s, sustainable and high-performance finishes such as Biochrome and Superfinish were born.

Rem Koolhaas in 1975 founded OMA, a leading international partnership in architecture practicum and its research branch called AMO. He professor at Harvard University he has won several international awards, and in 2014 he directed the 14th International Architecture Exhibition of the La Biennale di Venezia.
