The Cono door handle by Olivari is one of the most representative works of the collaboration between Gio Ponti and Ernesto Olivari. The design comes from the diagram of the forces exerted on the handle, thus reducing the use of material to a minimum.
The Cono handle can be fitted with a round or vertical rosette, or oval plate.
Made entirely of brass, it is available in various galvanic and PVD finishes.
Also available for windows with DK or Cremonese system.
Description
The Cono collection includes handles for doors and windows. Cono was born from the collaboration between Ernesto Olivari and Gio Ponti in the mid-1950s. Its first implementation was in the Villa Planchart in Caracas, built by Gio Ponti himself.
Battista Olivari founded the company in 1911 in Borgomanero, Italy. Olivari is synonymous with innovation thanks, for example, to the introduction on the market of anodized aluminum handles and the first plastic handles. In the 2000s, sustainable and high-performance finishes such as Biochrome and Superfinish were born.
Gio Ponti is one of the most important names in the field of design. His style is characterized by technological and architectural innovation. In 1928 he founded Domus, a magazine that brought the culture of design to Italy. His creations include buildings, furniture, lamps, furnishings. Shapes that break the aseptic standards of the time.
