Description

The Semi-Rigid suspension pendants are designed to be composed in atmospheric configurations. They are made to be suspended horizontally, defying the pull of gravity. To achieve this, the pendants can be hung from a range of alternate swag points, positioned apart from the canopy. The pendants have non-adjustable lengths. A jack connection plug allows the installer to attach the canopy to the ceiling before “plugging in” the individual pendants one by one. Longest and shortest lengths are determined by client in advance.

The fabrication technique of 38 collection, originally developed for 28, pushes its technical and material limits. A large glass sphere is blown with a multitude of interior cavities, which intersect and collide with each other in unpredictable ways, those can be filled with plants or left empty. It consists in different variants such as: Copper, Random, Semi Rigid, Armature, Stem and table lights. 

Bocci is a design and manufacturing company based in Vancouver and Berlin. Omer Arbel cultivates a fluid position, between the fields of architecture, sculpture and design. Founded in 2005 its focal themes include the exploration of light as a medium.
