U sofa was born as a revised extension of the U Turn lounge chair by Bensen. The rounded and clean lines underline the sense of softness that welcomes once you take a seat on this beautiful sofa. Among the details that make the difference in terms of comfort, the seat undercut stands out in particular, so as to give more space to the feet and obtain a more comfortable position for getting up. The soft foam padding, and the cover attached with Velcro for easy removal, are further details of comfort.

Bensen is a design and manufacturing company established in 1981 by Niels Bendtsen in Vancouver, Canada. Furniture is designed in Canada and made to the highest standards in Italy with a refined, minimalist style rooted in Italian craftsmanship. Bensen focuses on versatility, making its furnishings suitable for various spaces. Bensen Italia was founded in 2010 with Paolo Chiarot. Production was moved to Italy in 2018 after nearly four decades in Vancouver.

Niels Bendtsen, a Danish-Canadian designer, has a lifelong passion for design and craftsmanship. He learned from his father and honed his skills through study, instruction, and eventually designing his own pieces, including the Ribbon Chair in 1975 now in MoMA's permanent collection. In 1981, Bendtsen founded Bensen, a furniture manufacturing company that creates elegant, high-quality pieces at affordable prices. He has also designed for renowned brands like Magis, Montis, Moroso, Starbucks, and FLOS, striving for pieces that are both functional and timeless.
