In 1921, milanese lawyer Paolo Venini and venetian antiquarian Giacomo Cappellin founded “Vetri Soffiati Cappellin Venini & C”. The Fornace became a melting pot of craftsmanship, art and design, where artistic genius gave rise to exceptional glass creations. Alessandro Mendini
Born in Milan, Italy in 1931 and graduated in Architecture at the Polytechnic, Alessandro Mendini has been director of well-known architecture magazines since the 1970s, such as "Casabella", "Modo" and "Domus". His career as an unconventional designer has led him to collaborate with big names such as Zanotta, Alessi, Swatch and Cartier.
